Camatta Lempens are extremely pleased to see that Julian Assange has been able to safely return to Australia.
Stephen Kenny, who acted as Julian’s Australian lawyer, said “It is great news that Julian has been allowed to finally return to Australia as a free man and to get on with his life.”
Stephen said, “We are extremely disappointed that Julian had to plead guilty to an offence to secure his freedom, but it is significant that the United States has agreed not to take any further action against him.”
Stephen acknowledges the hard work undertaken by many volunteers in Australia, the politicians who worked towards Julian’s release, his father and brother, John and Gabriel Shipton, and the team from the Australian Assange Campaign, including barrister Mr Greg Barns, SC.
